new food for thought

my premise is that adults now have to deal with not just a generation gap, but a techno-generational gap. we teach in a text based context, but kids are raised in an image/video context. text for a kid is a quick youtube comment or a cell phone text message. content is transferred mostly via video. we are returning to our roots, to a time when oral history was king because there were few who had access to text. of course it may seem that oral history is not as malleable as in the past as it is a recorded message. but with technology being what it is, the message can be edited in an infinite number of ways to enhance, alter, or completely obscure the original message.
